Hale has been manufacturing pet doors in the United States since 1985 — longer than most pet door companies have existed. Every unit is built to order in Colorado, and the size range is wider than any other brand we carry. If a standard size doesn't fit your opening, Hale will build it to spec at the same price with the same warranty.

PlexiDor has been our longest pet door brand relationship — and you'll see that in how many of our gallery jobs feature it. The defining difference is construction: where most pet doors use a flexible vinyl flap, PlexiDor uses rigid dual-pane acrylic panels that swing open like saloon doors. Airplane windshield-grade acrylic — they don't shrink, fade, crack, or yellow.

The industrial aluminum frame doesn't bend, rust, or fail. The weatherseal is excellent: dense pile brush lining on all four edges, rated to 50mph. A keyed cylinder lock comes standard. We use PlexiDor on a significant number of standard door and custom panel jobs when durability is the priority, or when a customer prefers rigid panels over a flap.

It's also the only brand we carry with a reliable electronic RFID model — the door opens automatically when your dog approaches wearing the collar key, and acts as a rigid security barrier when locked.

Endura Flap has been making pet doors since 1976. They're manufactured by hand in San Luis Obispo, California, and the flap material is a dual-layer polyolefin polymer — not vinyl. Vinyl cracks in cold, warps in heat, and degrades over time. Polyolefin stays flexible to -40°F, resists UV, and is safe enough for food packaging.

The weatherseal is the benchmark of the industry. Magnets on three sides keep the flap closed against winds up to 50mph. The dual-layer design insulates comparably to double-pane glass. For sash window installations — our primary use for Endura Flap — this combination of weatherproofing and energy efficiency is exactly what's needed.
